Pudsey outfits and children's fancy dress 14th Nov 2008
Children in Need collectors took to the streets in children's fancy dress this week to raise money for charity, the Galloway Gazette reports.
Pupils at the Douglas Ewart high school in Newton Stewart dressed up in costumes with some deciding to wear Pudsey bear outfits.
Another fundraising idea came from the staff at Cinnamon in Newton Stewart as they decided to bake a Pudsey bear cake and get people to pay for it with the proceeds going to the charity.
Created by chef Emma Jolly, the huge Pudsey cake was plain sponge with buttercream icing.
Ms Jolly told the paper that she would be selling slices of the cake for £1 and all the money will go towards various different children's charities.
She said she hoped the cake would be a big hit with diners and would help to make as much money as possible for Children in Need.
Girls Aloud, Take That and a special edition of Strictly Come Dancing will feature on the BBC's Children In Need tonight (November 14th).
