A book festival in the village of Linton saw residents come together for a spies and fairies party as children as young as two came together to promote reading, the Haverhill Echo reports.
The festival's events went on for a week and all the children were able to enjoy workshops as well as listening to stories read by member of the Fairyland Trust.
Older children were able to get involved in spy-themed activities with the help of thriller-writer Joe Craig.
Commenting on the events, Josephine Paterson, chairman of the festival organisers, said: "The idea is to embrace the whole community and encourage children to read books. This year we managed to get some famous authors and illustrators along, including Axel Scheffler illustrator of the The Gruffalo."
Mr Paterson explained that the event was originally only meant to last for a weekend but was extended to include an entire week of activities.
Guilford will be the venue for a special whodunit panel game with novelist Stella Duffy as part of the town's book festival on October 22nd, getsurrey.co.uk reports.
