Children's fancy dress at Bengal festival 6th Oct 2008
A festival has been celebrated in West Bengal, India, and youngsters were invited to join in with a children's fancy dress competition
The festival of Durga Puja was celebrated on Saturday (October 4th) as the Bengal Association was turned into what the Express Buzz described as a "mini Bengal".
In addition to the children's fancy dress, there were many Bengali women selling food, from traditional Bengali cuisine to fast food burgers.
There were between 250 to 300 people at the festival and everyone was involved in decorating the goddess, including the children.
The children's fancy dress competition was open to everyone who was between six and 15 years of age.
According to the Express Buzz, the association has been running for 75 years and there are plans for a singer to perform at the centre to "give it a more Bengali touch".
The signer Indrani Sen is due to perform at the Bengal Association on October 9th.
