Children's fancy dress in 'Sure Fairy Dash' 30th Sep 2008
A promenade took place recently on the Isle of Man to raise money for the "Wish Upon a Dream" charity and the event included children's fancy dress.
Youngsters aged between six and 11 were asked to dress up as fairies and elves as they took part in the "Sure Fairy Dash", Manx Radio reports.
The money that was raised from the day's races has been put towards providing a "sunshine break" in Portugal for a boy who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
There is a "Bra Dash" and the "Santa Dash" every year in Douglas on the Isle of Man and the races that take place at each event are similar.
This year's race started at 11 in the morning on September 20th and the fairies and elves finished running the event half an hour later.
According to Manx Radio, the charity was set up by a resident of Santon last year.
