Children's fancy dress at late summer fun day 17th Sep 2008
A company decided that there was no time like the present to celebrate and decided to have a late summer family fun day with a children's fancy dress competition.
The Wild West themed event was held in place of the Croydon companys Christmas party and all the activities raised around £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
Chequers Contract Services held a similar family day last year to celebrate their 20th anniversary and it was so successful staff were asked to vote on whether they wanted a repeat performance.
Kate Ward, a director of Chequers Contract Services said "the fun day won hands down".
She explained: "I think people like the idea because it is an event for the whole family and we were able to do a lot for the children by providing them with entertainment, goody bags and lots of prizes."
Visitors to the fun day got to enjoy a simulated wild steer riding machine and a fancy dress competition as well as a tug of war contest.
