Fairytale fancy dress parade meets Sleeping Beauty 27th Aug 2008
A 'magical' event was held on bank holiday Monday at Linden Hall, near Longhorsley when children were invited to attend a performance of Sleeping Beauty, the Morpeth Herald reported.
Attendees were invited to come along in Fairytale Fancy Dress and join in a parade that formed part of the show that was put on by the Chapter House Theatre Company.
There was a Fairytale Fancy Dress parade during the interval of the show and members from the cast joined in the fun.
The paper called the adaptation of Sleeping Beauty "a splendid piece of storytelling in a style that comes close to the Famous Five whilst still celebrating the original fairytale romance".
Chapter House Theatre's version of Sleeping Beauty followed the adventures of Louisa, who was evacuated to the countryside during World War II.
As well as the play and the Fairytale Fancy Dress parade, the grounds of Linden Hall were open to the public so that the children and their parents could enjoy a picnic as part of their day out.
