Child designer creates princess dress 19th Aug 2008
A nine-year-old designer from Ireland has unveiled his first design a princess dress for his little sister.
Michael Donohoe from Athy in County Kildare unveiled the princess dress for his sister Lauren in Dublin last week, reports the Independent.
HIs dream of becoming a designer was fulfilled by the Make A Wish Foundation and his design was unveiled in Debenhams in Henry Street on Monday (August 18th).
Michael and his seven-year-old sister Lauren both suffer from the life-threatening disease Cystic Fibrosis.
With the help of fashion designer John Rocha and the team at Debenhams, Michael was able to achieve his dream.
"It was a great pleasure to work with Michael. He is a very talented young man with a wonderful sense of style," Rocha told the newspaper.
Laura's wish was to be a princess for a day, so her brother decided to create a princess dress for her.
Later in the year, Lauren is expected to take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage in her glamorous new attire.
