Bowling club celebrates with fancy dress 15th Aug 2008
A community in Flintshire enjoyed fun in the sun at the weekend by celebrating the bowling club's 25th anniversary.
The Pontybodkin and Coed Talon fun day was deemed a "glorious success" by organisers, reports the Evening Leader.
A children's fancy dress competition was popular with all involved and councillor Carolyn Thomas was on hand to present awards to the winners.
Community members also enjoyed the carnival atmosphere by browsing around stalls and taking part in a coconut shy and guess the weight of the cake competition.
Children and adults got physical with a game of tug-of-war, which was also judged by councillor Thomas.
Organisers say they are now keen to make the fair an annual event due to the high turnout on the day.
This follows a children's event in Camarthenshire in Wales, where body painters from around the world showed off their creations at a demonstration show.
