Fairy crafts festivals 'go head-to-head' 25th Jul 2008

Little girls who like wearing a fairy dress or getting involved in fairy crafts will have their pick of magical events this summer.
The Northern Echo reports that two fairy days in Teesdale, County Durham - Woodland Magic at the Bowlees visitor centre and a three-day Woodlands Festival at Deepdale, Barnard Castle - are causing a row in the area.
According to the Teesdale Conservation Volunteers (TCV), who organised the festival, Woodland Magic on Saturday (July 26th) has copied many of the fairy crafts and ideas that they had planned for their event next month.
TCV manager Martin Bacon explained: "These other people have jumped in and nicked most of our ideas from last year. People who go to their day won't want to come to our similar event a few weeks later."
Fairy crafts and activities at both events include story-telling, face-painting, music, magical walks and the chance for little ones to make their very own fairy dress.
Earlier this month, children in Aylesbury got involved in a fairies, knights and trolls day at the Kings Head Inn, reported the Aylesbury Today.
