Fabulous fancy dress at Summer Carnival 22nd Jul 2008
Youngsters from the small Scottish settlement of Spey Bay have been treated to a fun filled event which gave them the opportunity to don fancy dress costumes.
An annual Summer Carnival was held at the wildlife centre of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society on Saturday (July 19th).
The sea-themed fancy dress competition was designed to help raise youngsters' awareness of the work done by the society, the Press and Journal reported.
In addition to the dressing up fun at the Protect Our Dolphins event, children could also enjoy storytelling, flag making and take lessons in how to play the didgeridoo.
What's more, they could venture out to the nearby beach and watch for minke whales, dolphins and osprey.
Hannah Bird, manager of the wildlife centre, spoke to the local paper before the event and expressed her excitement about the various plans.
She said: "We're very excited to be able to welcome everyone to our third carnival here at the centre. This year's plans are even better than before and it promises to be a fantastic family day out."
The carnival was organised in support of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society's campaign to protect Moray Firth's bottlenose dolphins.
