Fairy crafts day at Literary Festival 9th Jul 2008

 |
A day of fairy crafts will end the National Trust's second Literary Festival in Aylesbury.
Featuring a children's fancy dress competition, little ones will be invited to join the fun of a fairies, knights and trolls day at the Kings Head inn, reports the Aylesbury Today.
The fancy dress theme is characters from a book or fairytale and there will be crafts, activities and story-reading, the newspaper states.
Held on July 12th, the fairy crafts day marks the end of the week-long programme which also included a Roald Dahl Day, performance of Beowulf and a talk by historian and author Adrian Tinniswood.
The Roald Dahl Day, which took place on July 5th, included a parade of giant Catalan-style puppets of the characters from the author's famous book The Twits, the Bucks Herald reported.
Ally Green, visitor development manager for the site, remarked: "We are delighted that we are able to host another Literary Festival at the Kings Head and the income generated will make a fantastic contribution to the upkeep of this important part of our local heritage."
