A mother-of-one has revealed how she practices her fairy crafts throughout the night, reports the Ilkeston Advertiser.
Ali Lycett from Shipley explained to the newspaper that she bakes sponges and crafts sugar sculptures, such as that of a little fairy bear, in the late hours so that she can spend time with daughter Aimee during the day.
For Aimee's birthday, 32-year-old Ali wanted a pink fairy castle cake but could not find the perfect one anywhere.
After making the cake herself, she realised that birthday cakes could be her calling in life and has since appeared in national specialist magazines and created a special gateau for the mayor of the High Peak's welcoming into office.
The original fairy castle cake is still one of her biggest sellers as little girls wearing fairytale dresses everywhere love the design.
"Delivering them is the best time. To date, with every single one, the look on their face has said it was far better than they expected," Ali said.
Geri Halliwell's daughter Bluebell wore a pink fairy dress and had an extravagant pink cherry cake for her second birthday party this year.
