There is sure to be an abundance of fairytale dresses at the St Mary's Village Carnival this Saturday (July 5th).
This year the carnival procession theme is Fairy Tales and over a dozen children's fancy dress floats are expected to take part, reports the Dunstable Today.
Carnival queen Holly Potton, princess Jemma Flitton and attendants Isabel Dorrence and Devon Brown will be among those wearing fairytale dresses, according to the official event website.
A steel band and majorettes will lead the procession, along with 30 vintage vehicles, while homeowners along the route can participate in a Best Dressed House contest.
The Right Reverend Graeme Knowles, who is the Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, is to officially open the carnival when the procession arrives at the green, and then visitors can enjoy the entertainment and activities on offer.
There will be an annual dog show, basket-making, bee-keeping experts, a pantomime cow, rides a Big Wheel and birds of prey.
Half of all money raised goes to the St Mary's Church Fabric Fund, while the remainder goes to other charities such as the East of England Air Ambulance Service, the newspaper reports.
