Princess dress saves the day 30th Jun 2008

A floor-length princess dress was the saving grace for a 16-year-old on Friday (June 27th), it has been reported.
South Shields teenager Laura Jordison thought she would be unable to attend her prom after she dislocated her knee meaning she has been in a splint for the last three weeks.
However, her choice of golden princess dress means that nobody would be able to see the tubular bandages supporting her knee, reported the Shields Gazette, as doctors removed the splint before the big night.
"I will still have my bandage on, but my dress goes down to the floor, so nobody will see it," said Laura. "It would have been horrible if I couldn't go, or if I had to sit down all night."
She injured her leg while playing football with friends in the park and will need physiotherapy in the future.
Women wearing fairytale dresses are helping raise money for Cancer Connections, a counselling and complementary therapy service, the newspaper also reported.
The Shields Gazette is hosting its annual fashion show, Fashion High-fliers, with tickets priced £10.
