Fairy party in Diss 27th Jun 2008

The town of Diss might have looked like a fairy party last weekend, as flower fairies took to the streets for its annual carnival parade.
Among those in fairy dress were cowboys and Indians, along with hula girls in a float parade, reported the Diss Mercury.
According to the carnival organisers, this year's procession was the biggest in decades, and over 2,500 spectators piled into Diss Town Football Club for the event.
There were 35 floats in total, which the organisers remarked was a great success, especially in comparison to the four that entered in 2001.
"It has been absolutely amazing," said carnival co-ordinator and deputy mayor Jane Trippett-Jones. "The weather has been incredibly good to us and the community has really come together to make it a brilliant day."
The Taste of Diss Festival is to take place on July 12th, the newspaper recently reported, which will involve a children's fancy dress ceremony. Participants who come as a fruit or vegetable will get a prize.
