An American woman has designed her own "magic" house with a special fairy bedroom for her daughter.
Reported by the Los Angeles Times, gardener Katrina Rivers has created her own bit of bohemia in downtown LA with an indoor-outdoor theme to her house.
For her 12-year-old daughter Adea, Ms Rivers created a kind of fairy party with a tree mural and shimmering pieces of white plastic scattered on wet paint to give the impression of sparkling walls.
"There's a belief that the bedroom is an expression of one's hidden self," she said.
The rest of Ms Rivers' house includes wind chimes, fountains, murals and even a meditation area.
Her friend David Elliott told the newspaper: "It's very much a place where people can go and feel balanced and get in touch with spirit."
Ms Rivers has now completed her dream home, but 1.7 million Brits have not experienced the same success.
Research by Halifax Home Insurance found that this many people in the UK have been living with unfinished DIY projects for over two years.
