Preparations for Trowbridge's carnival are well underway, with the selection of the butterfly princess and queen at the weekend.
The Wiltshire town chose its new royalty for this year's celebration following a difficult competition in front of three judges, reports the Wiltshire Times.
The panel comprised the mayor of Trowbridge councillor Nick Blakemore, the headteacher of Roundstone Prep School Mary Pearce, as well as Pauline Alford, the wife of the chairman of the event's sponsor Selwood Housing,
After what was described as a "tense competition", they selected two girls from the ten participants - Queen Emily Phillips aged eight and nine-year-old Princess Phoebe Lefter.
And they will be looking forward to getting their queen and princess dress, as the event's organiser Maryrose Mantle told the paper: "We've got two fantastic girls to represent Trowbridge and we'll be going dress shopping with them in advance of the summer event programme."
The girls will represent Trowbridge at a number of celebrations throughout the year including the May Day Fair and Veteran's Day.
Southend also crowned its queen along with two princesses this week, for its carnival to take place on August 16th.
