Carnival princess dress for Pershore 16th Apr 2008
This weekend will be an exciting one for the young ladies of Pershore, as they compete for the title of carnival princess.
Judges will this Saturday select a princess and two attendants at a competition to take place at the local town hall, reports the Evesham Journal.
And the lucky girl who takes the royal title and tiara will be decked out in a princess dress as well as a blue velvet clock made especially by Beth Milsom of Pershore's Special Occasions.
The winners will lead the parade at the Pershore Celebrates carnival, which takes place on May 26th.
Competition organiser Jan Parsons told the paper: "This event is always popular and we are looking for a princess not only with good looks but also a nice personality."
This year the Worcestershire town will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of its annual carnival and will feature a green festival and farmers' market along with the usual festivities.
