Manchester's Trafford Centre welcomed the author and the star of the popular Little Princess series this weekend.
And a host of fans flocked to the shopping mall to greet Tony Ross, who has penned much-loved stories including I Don't Like Salad, I Don't Want to Comb My Hair, I Want a Shop and I Want to Go to the Fair, reported the Manchester Evening News.
Fans queued up to see the princess herself, along with her creator, who read a number of stories to launch a range of toys to accompany the books and television series.
These include cuddly Little Princess Toys, as well as beanies of other characters including Puss and Scruff.
Kristian Johnson from the company which designed the toys, Born to Play, told the paper: "As soon as the Little Princess arrived they were over-whelmed. While Tony was storytelling the Little Princess sat among the children and they all wanted to sit next to her."
The first Little Princess story, I Want my Potty, was published in 1986.
